  • The state-wide SCBook Festival celebrates its 14th Anniversary as the state’s premier literary event in 2010.
  • The Festival is free and open to the public on Saturday, February 27th (9:00 am - 5:30 pm) and Sunday, February 28th (11:30 am - 5:00 pm) at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.  The festival activities on Friday, February 26 are ticketed events only including master classes on writing and the opening night reception.  The Appraisal Desk on the Lower Level at the Exhibit Hall will be open on Friday, February 26, from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. The Exhibit Hall is closed to the public on Friday while exhibitors are setting up for all weekend. All author presentations and signings occur on Saturday and Sunday.
  • The Festival includes many special events, including writing classes, keynote addresses, and receptions. For more information about special events, please see the Web site.
  • All presentations occur inside the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. This single-venue design ensures a dense crowd, and therefore, author presentation rooms are full of a specifically targeted audience of book enthusiasts.
  • The SCBook Festival has an attendance of more than 6,000 people annually.
  • The SCBook Festival has a state-wide media plan worth more $100K, including a special 24-page program in The State newspaper (circulation 100,000) the weekend before the festival.
  • The Festival features more than 90 authors in solo and panel presentations, book signings, and readings. To apply to be a featured author, please see our Author Submission Guidelines.

  • The Festival includes a special Field Trip day for local elementary school classes before the venue opens to the general public.
