Steve Taylor is the author of Wheels Up: Sky Jinks in the Jet Age, an memoir that takes readers into a world few have seen, including harrowing landings in Vietnam, true antics of airline crew members, near-death at sea, and life-learning mistakes. Taylor, raised on a farm in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. is a graduate of The Citadel. He served as a C-130 aircraft commander, operating from most air fields in the Southeast Asia War Theater. Following a long flying career, Taylor retired as an international airline captain. He is also a solo ocean sailor and holds a U.S. Coast Guard captain’s license. He has five grown children, and after flying over most of the world, now splits his time with his wife, Nancy, between Atlanta and Charleston.
