Bruce Holsinger

Bruce Holsinger is an award-winning scholar of the Middle Ages and professor of English and Medieval Studies at the University of Virginia. He is the author or editor of six books that have garnered major awards from the Modern Language Association and the Medieval Academy of America. His work was recognized with a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2004, and his books have been published by the university presses of Chicago, Columbia, and Stanford. According to The New York Times Book Review his debut historical novel, A Burnable Book (HarperCollins), “delivers up a world where even the filth is colorful,” while The Washington Post calls him “a graceful guide to the fourteenth century, lacing his thriller with just the right seasonings.” He lives in Charlottesville with his wife and two sons.
